Dr. William Hitt

Dr. HittDr. William Hitt is an award-winning physician and pioneering scientist. Iin the mid 1980s after a lifetime of research involving amino acids, Dr. Hitt completed his research using NTR in Mexico, at the invitation of the Mexican Government and with the support of UN AM and the World Health Organization. In its initial clinical application, approximately 3000 patients were treated using NTR with a documented recovery rate three years after treatment of 70%. This is an astonishing 200% to 700% increase in successful treatment over current, traditional treatment programs.

Dr. Hitt has been honored with numerous awards as a scientist and physician, including the Van Leeuwenhoek Award of France for excellence in microscopy and the Ely Lily Award for his discovery of a new species of mycoplasma. Dr. Hitt is also a holder of the Bioethics International Award of Merit as a director of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War. Dr. Hitt also received, with his fellow members, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985.

Dr. Hitt began studying amino acids and cell cultures in the late 1940s. Combining his work with research linking amino acids to the treatment of alcoholism, Dr. Hitt developed the first, and only, intravenous treatment of alcoholism. For his work in this area, the Mexican government awarded him the coveted Cientifico Destacado (outstanding scientist award). Since the 1980s, Dr. Hitt has expanded his treatment of addictions beyond alcoholism and has developed treatment modalities for the full range of chemical dependencies. This treatment - neurotransmitter restoration or NTR - remains unique in all the world.
